In an unusual move Intel have partnered with a number of social networking providers, including Movable Type and SocialText to produce a suite of services aimed at the enterprise market. The combined solution goes under the banner of SuiteTwo and will be supported by SpikeSource. At a cost of $150 and $200 per seat per year they must hope that the benefit of a one stop solution is sufficient incentive for larger companies to plunder their meagre IT budgets.
To be fair they can't be faulted for their choices, the products are
potentially the 'best in class' and the services, which also includes Simplefeed and NewsGator, provide a great collection of tools which, as a set, are currently unrivalled. There has been some critisism that the suite is only superficially combined and that most people will forgo the package and select the products individually. My feeling is if they can aggregate the combined power of these products they could be on to something that the corporate market has been crying out for and which the main enterprise players such as IBM and Oracle have failed to deliver.
